Safety Precautions
1) Never put your hand in the print area when the printer is  printing! The printhead is very hot and moves quickly.
2) Don't wear loose clothing near the printer while it is printing.
2) Do not sand PLA plastic with out a proper respirator. The dust is harmful to your lungs. 


Makerbot Replicator 2.1
1) How to turn it on
2) Navigating the menu with the touch pad
3) Loading and Unloading filament
- Follow the on screen directions
- Make sure to always hold the filament with one hand!

How to use Makerware

Preparing your 3d models for printing

1) open Makerware

2) Click on 'Prepare' and "Add File" to import your .STL's to the print bed

3) Use the 'Move' tool to separate the models from each other
* remember any models that are touching will be printed as a single piece

4) Use the 'Scale' too to resize the 3d models to the proper size
a- scale the piece to the proper hight and width. Set the model at the correct hight and adjust for the width if necessary.

5) Use 'Save to Library' to save your '.thing' file to the desktop 

6) Change your 'Settings'
For Game Pieces 
Resolution - Low(Faster)Infill - 10%# of Shells - 3Layer Height - .30 mm

For Dice 
Resolution - Low(Faster)Infill - 45%# of Shells - 2Layer Height - .30 mm

7) Export Print File or Save Your File
- Take a screen shot of the Export Info and keep it with your .x3g file. You will hand in both to me.

8) Show Joe your .stl, .thing, .x3g & Export Info screen shot to be approved for printing. Your files should be labeled with your first and last initial and the first letter of the color ie.. jvsg.thing

  • Stratego 2 players  
  • Catan 3-6 players

- Hand in the first 12 game write-ups as word docs


- Create mock ups of your games with pen and paper. write down basic rules for your game


- Read the first part "Concepting" of the book



-Working on your game.
You need to be making a mockup of your game. Play with board designs, card text, and dice. Create enough parts to test the game. Track game rules and issues that come up.
